    Description

"Flamingo Ballet" by Arthur Singer - Authentic
    Artagraph
    ®
    Edition 3-D Reproduction
This striking work by famed artist Arthur Singer has been reproduced as a fine-art
    Artagraph
    ®
Edition.  It features a glorious flock of 20 flamingos, wading and drinking in water.  The impressionistic-like background and reflections in the water combine with a sharp realism used for the birds in the foreground, to create an dramatic visual impact that will impress anyone who appreciates fine art of birds and animals.
    The patented
    Artagraph
    ®
reproduction method creates an amazing, 3-D effect by replicating not only the exact colors of the original work, but also the surface texture and brush strokes placed on the canvas by the artist.  This patented process brings to life the original work in all its facets -- faithfully presenting the color, texture, and impact that Arthur Singer created in this work in 1979.
This piece is part of a limited edition of 1,000 Artagraphs, of which this one is numbered 142 on the back, within the back stamp.  There are a few minor nicks and scuffs on the frame, none of which are visible from the front view of the piece (see details in photos.)  Note that the paper Certificate of Authenticity has two places along the top edge where it is torn (see photo.)

    What Makes Artagraph
    ®
    Editions Special?
This is a fine art reproduction, produced in an authentic Artagraph
    ®
Edition.  The Artagraph patented process replicates the artist’s brush strokes on canvas – giving each piece a bas-relief effect that faithfully reproduces the original work in color and appearance.
For museum pieces, the original work of art is photographed for reproduction with the permission of the museum that owns it.  These photos have been laser-scanned to generate as fine a color reproduction as possible.  Then a faithful image of the original is printed onto canvas that has been laminated with a special material,
using four or more colors of special ink.
Also, side-lit photos are taken of the original museum work, which are used as reference to replicate the brush strokes in the painting, using a single color of acrylic paint on a blank canvas.  A mold of this canvas is then made by pouring a special type of silicone gel onto its surface, completely covering it.  The gel hardens from a liquid to a solid sheet of rubber-like material after three days.  When this rubber mold is removed, it contains an engraved-like “negative” of the placement and height of the artist’s original brush strokes, which were reproduced on the blank canvas.
For modern works, in many cases the artist permits the original work to be covered with the silicone gel to make a rubber mold – creating a precise replica of the painting’s brush strokes and surface texture.
Finally, a third process completes each Artagraph
    ®
Edition reproduction by pressing the rubber mold into each color-faithful, canvas-backed replica of the original work. This patented process uses several tons of pressure, plus high heat, to impress the exact brush strokes and surface texture from the mold into the surface of each Artagraph produced.  The result is a reproduction that so closely matches the original work, it is virtually indistinguishable from three feet away.
Indeed these reproductions are so faithful to the original, the company that produces them, Artagraph Reproduction Technology (A.R.T.), makes sure there is no mistaking them for originals by stamping the back of each one as an Artagraph
    ®
    Edition with indelible ink.
Please look over the detail photos to see how the strokes from Singer's brush are replicated faithfully in this remarkable reproduction.  If you have any questions, please ask me before purchasing.
