Description:
This is a WWII German Air Force Luftwaffe Paratrooper Fallschirmjager M38 steel helmet with liner and chinstrap. There are no markings on the exterior but there are markings on the interior.
Condition:
The helmet is in good serviceable condition.
There are no dents or dings.
Exterior has some minor scratches and scuff marks, but most all the finish still remains. Finish has worn off along the edge on the bottom band. From what we can see on the inside, the finish still remains. We did not take the liner off though. Bolt head on the exterior helmet, holding the inside liner on, has a little rust inside the holes on the left hand side. There are no markings on the exterior.
Inside liner is in good serviceable condition. There are no rips or tears, but the leather is dried out. Along the edges the finish has worn off. Stitching is sewn tightly. It is securely attached to the foam and metal liner. Leather chinstrap is in good condition with no rips or tears either. Hardware is rusty. Markings are challenging to read and they are in German. Part of it has worn off.
As with all used items, a light cleaning may be necessary to meet your standards.
