    This is a WWI map of the Western Front that was reused for the Normandy invasion in WWII.  Rare Normandy Invasion map from the collection of
    Rear Admiral George B.H. Stallings who served in the Navy Department’s Bureau of Ordnance during WWII from 1941 to 1944. He was then chief of staff to CBD5 in the USS Texas BB35 for the invasion of Omaha Beach in Normandy on June 6, 1944, as well as in Southern France and Iwo Jima from 1944-1945. He was chief of staff to CBD4 in the USS West Virginia BB48 for the invasion of Okinawa and the surrender of Japan in 1945.
    This is an extremely rare World War I and World War II map originally made by the United States
    War office in 1914
    for the " Cherbourg & Caen " Western front area but used again for the D-Day invasion.  It was first published by the War office in 1914, and this 4th edition was published in 1943 as a special printing for the American Navy,  Army and Army Air Force, 6 / 1944 for the D-Day invasion. Size: 31" x  33 1/2" Condition: Very good to mint.
