WW2 Style SSH40 Ssh-40 Helmet Chin Strap

Pulled off an original SSH40 helmet, these are near identical to the factory-issued ones of the late 1944-1945 steel helmets, although made after 1957. These are in rough shape, and have seen a lot of wear in its life. Sweat stains are all over, perfect for a battle-tested display. Every part is original.
The only way to make them look fully wartime is by attaching them to the loops via split pins, instead of sewing.
Stitching is removed, though I have not put the holes in.
One strap is very short, definitely needs repairs if wished to put the strap over the brim of the shell. A simple canvas strap will do, as these types of repairs were seen all across the lifespan of these helmets.
If sewn, use a heavy duty needle and basic green string. these are supposed to be three layers thick, making it very hard to sew, similar to the M-1.
