WW2 German Luftwaffe helmet chinstrap - 100% original

Description

This is an original brown leather chinstrap for a Luftwaffe helmet. (Luftwaffe helmets used brown leather straps up until 1940; after that they switched to black like everybody else.) The stitching is intact. The leather is dry but sound enough for display. Do NOT try to use this or any original chinstrap to carry or hang our helmet. They are old. There is a break in the leather on the short end just where it bends. You can see this in the photos.  The maker mark is from Franz Brehm; a company known to have produced chinstraps under Luftwaffe contract. There is a paretially visible Luftwaffe unit mark on the inner side of the strap.
My name is Ken Niewiarowicz. I wrote the book "Germany's combat helmets 1933-1945 - a modern study" published by Bender publishing in 2009. I will guarantee you that this chinstrap is original.
