    Description

    Terms
    1) I am happy to sell to anyone who is able to use the eBay International program, where I ship to their hub in the USA and eBay then sends it on to you. However, if you are outside the USA and buy multiple lots, I cannot send you an invoice and you may have to pay separate s/h for every lot, which is quite expensive. That is beyond my control.
    2) Due to eBay's invoicing policies, generally a maximum of 20 items can be put on an invoice.
    3) Please wait for me to send an invoice before you pay. I send all items insured or at least with a tracking number. The cost of this is included in the total s/h cost of listed in the ordering information.
    4) Wins from the same day will be combined for combined s/h savings, but not for auctions over more than one week. Thanks!
    5) I combine postage, so multiple items will be sent together for the higher of the shipping prices quoted. (For example, if you win a banknote with a .99 stated s/h rate and a heavier coin set with a .49 quoted s/h rate, they will be sent together and your total s/h would be .49.
    6) I will combine the first 4 wins at the highest quoted price. After 4 wins I will charge an extra 25 cents per item sent at the same time, in addition to the base s/h.
    7) Books will likely be sent media rate and may have to be sent separately from non-book items. Ask if you have questions on shipping.
    This is a
    great, old stock certificate.
    Company:
Pan American Sulphur Company (Read all the history below).
    Date: March 16, 1970.
Account holder:  Wood, Walker  & Co.
    HISTORY:
In April of 1947, Pan American Sulphur Company was incorporated to exploit General Alfredo Breceda's discovery in the Tehuantepec reserves. The original investment in its formation, chipped in by the Little Mothers Club (a clique of independent Texas oil millionaires,) was 0,000. The company then discovered that sulphur lay beyond the Breceda concession but, saved by Breceda’s government pull, PASCO secured adjacent rights in 1950. The Korean War put sulphur in more demand, and Pan Am decided to sell out and make a profit, but it couldn’t get Freeport Sulphur or Texas Gulf Sulphur to buy. So PASCO stayed; in 1952, it secured a loan of ,664,000 from the Export-Import Bank, and later another loan of 0,000. Sales of new stock were arranged through Wall Street investment bankers, Kuhn, Loeb & Co. in 1953 and 1955.
Probably PASCO’s luckiest break was being turned down on offers to sell. Only in the salt-dome wells peculiar to the Western Hemisphere’s Gulf Coast can sulphur be mined by the very cheap Frasch process (in which super-heated water is pumped into the deposits, melting them, and the sulphur is forced to the surface by compressed air). PASCO’s sulphur field on the Isthmus had many advantages; it was close to the surface, with sloping walls which enabled water to escape; a river flowed through the concession for necessary water and there was a Pemex refinery nearby to supply fuel oil, an old railway, and a port 26 miles away.
    More History:
Elijah E. "Buddy" Fogelson (February 16, 1900 – December 1, 1987) was an American lawyer, Army colonel, businessman, horse and cattle breeder, and philanthropist. Although born in Lincoln, Nebraska, he spent a large part of his life in Texas, where he attended Texas Christian University in 1919 and 1920. He went on to make a fortune as a wildcatter in the oil industry.
In 1941, Buddy Fogelson acquired the Forked Lightning Ranch along the Pecos River about 25 miles (40 km) southeast of Santa Fe, New Mexico on which he raised Santa Gertrudis cattle. Over time, he acquired adjacent parcels of land to swell the size of his ranch to 13,000 acres (53 km2). He married actress Greer Garson in 1949, and their marriage lasted almost 40 years until his death.
    Biography
During World War II, Fogelson served with the United States Army. Rising to the rank of colonel, he served on General Eisenhower's staff and was the chief of oil procurement for the Allied Forces. Immediately following the surrender of Germany in May 1945, Fogelson was part of the United States Military Mission in Moscow. Discharged from the Army, Fogelson returned to business in Texas.
On 17 April 1947 he co-founded the Pan American Sulphur Company to develop and operate a major sulfur mine in Jaltipan, Veracruz, Mexico.
On a visit to Hollywood in 1948, Fogelson was introduced by his friend Peter Lawford to actress Greer Garson, and the two married a year later. Their marriage lasted almost 40 years until his death. Buddy Fogelson supported Garson's theatrical interest and formed Santa Fe Productions, Inc. that backed several Broadway plays. He is personally listed as the theatrical producer of The Golden Age (1963) and The Passion of Josef D. (1964).
The couple maintained homes in Dallas and Los Angeles and spent a great deal of time at their Spanish-style hacienda on the Forked Lightning Ranch. An owner/breeder of Thoroughbred racehorses, in 1971, Fogelson purchased Ack Ack from the estate of Harry F. Guggenheim. The horse earned the 1971 Eclipse Award for Outstanding Older Male Horse, as well as the most prestigious United States Horse of the Year award. His nephew and adopted son, Gayle David Fogelson, is today involved in breeding and racing Thoroughbreds.
On Buddy Fogelson's death in 1987, the Forked Lightning Ranch was divided between his widow and his son. In early 1991, failing health forced the elderly Greer Garson Fogelson to sell her portion of the ranch property. It was acquired by the Conservation Fund, which donated it to the National Park Service. This portion of the property is now part of Pecos National Historical Park, while another 5.5 thousand acres (22 km2) were purchased by actor Val Kilmer.
