This is an Original WW2 M42 German Steel Combat Helmet from WWII. Purchased from an auction that had a collection of WWII items a few years back. Other than that, I don't have any other history. It is in pretty good condition considering it's age. It's also a little heavy from being made with steel. I'm not sure but it looks like someone might have painted it at some point. Maybe because of rust or to protect it.
I checked the inside extensively all over with a lighted magnifying glass and did not see any kind of markings. Possibly due to the paint.
The circumference under the set of holes is 26".
