Lot of 12 reproduction Reading Lines Railroad Passenger Train Conductor Brass Vest or Cuff Buttons. They are 16mm in diameter. The buttons were manufactured by Waterbury Company of Cheshire Connecticut. They have manufactured buttons for railroads, military, etc. since 1812. These buttons are reproductions of the original buttons made by the same company that manufactured the original ones.
The Reading (pronounced "Redding") was one of the first railroads in this country and became a part of Conrail in 1976. Railroads have always kept their passenger train conductors well dressed and company logo adorned brass buttons have always been an integral part of that.
