    Description

This is an original M40 shell that was sold to the Finnish after the War, they threw a new liner and coat of paint on it and was used in their military.  The helmet is in great condition, almost all the the original paint still survives and looks great, only with some areas where the paint has come off, and its slightly rusty there, although there is no active rust on the helmet.  There's only one noticeable dent in the helmet, and that at the front, its hard to see but can be felt.  The shell is in overall great condition though, and is a wonderful example of an m40.  The liner is in similarly great condition, there are no rips, tears, or discoloration in the liner.  The liner string is missing but were commonly replaced with just simple shoestring, so that shouldn't be a problem.  The chinstrap also has problems with it, all the leather for both the liner and chinstrap is not brittle, they're both slightly stiff, but wont crack.  You can tell this helmet was used by a soldier as there are sweat stains on the liner, this is why it is darkened around the edges, especially at the front.  The helmet is in overall wonderful condition and is one of the best examples I have come across.
