He  are made in same fashion as the original. High quality genuine leather cut in the same manner assembled on an galvanized steel outer and steel inner band. Outer band has maker B.&C.  B E R L I N , dated 1941 with size stamp. The liner are fully assembled and ready to install in your shell.  Liner comes complete with a correct
leather chin strap (black exterior, brown interior) and steel buckle with stamp

Meaning a size 66/59
liner and  66/59  liner can usually be made to fit into a shell size 66
The 1941 dates makes this most acceptable for an M40 shell, though this liner will certainly fit M35 or M42 helmets.

How do I install the liner?
1. Find the rear seam on the outer liner band (there are two rivets and hole)). Place the liner in the shell and line hole up with the rear hole in the shell. Install the first split pin (you will have to hold the inner leather band out of the way while you spread the split pin).
2. Line up the 2 front holes in the shell and liner band, and install the last 2 pins (same as above).
